This place deeeeeeeee-livers deeeeeeeeeeee-liciousness deeeeeeeeeeeee-rectly across the street from Blanco State Park. I was impressed the moment I sat down and munched some chips and salsa, my guess is both made in house. The wait is non-existent, I was able to sit eat and drink right away around 2 pm. Odd time, but hey, I'm an odd dude that loves good food.El Agave puts the flavor in f#% yeah. I will return, i saw nachos on the menu so that'll be next.... my enchiladas were chicken, I know cheese is the way to go, but I do gringo most of the time. Would highly recommend the tamal plate, but you do you boo-boo.10/10 a must recommend.
I think this is one of the only good Mexican places in the Blanco area. Very authentic and the service definitely speaks Spanish. There will always be Mexican music playing on the radio and the decor is very authentic Mexican also. The backs of the benches are embroidered with the El Agave logo. Each bench even has a little painting of a Mexican house or horse or some kind of nostalgic Mexican scene. The 1 lb barbacoa plate is our go to. It's the perfect flavor of barbacoa that you're used to and it can definitely be shared and split between 2 people.Parking is easy and the prices are very affordable for what you would expect these days.We typically walk out paying only 40.
My husband I ordered their migas plates to go for breakfast this morning, and they were delicious! Their migas plate comes with bacon, beans, and freshly made tortillas. We will definitely be back to dine in!
Just left this place and it is amazing. I can't recommend it enough! Their el agave nachos with chicken fajita was amazing. My husband got the beef enchiladas and he said it was so good! One of my kids got the tortilla soup and he was very pleased!
Very good authentic food. Server was nice. The decor is really neat and definitely looks like something from Mexico. The menu is huge and I wish I had more time to look over it. However, everything we ate was good. Enchilada were incredible. The tortillas too! Even had room to take our truck and travel trailer which is tough to do sometimes. We will be back if and when we are in Blanco again.
In town just for the day and was pleasantly surprised with how great experience was. Fajita plates were awesome, and they easily accommodated a group of 9. Would definitely come back if ever back in the area.
Breakfast tacos were outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the nopales and papas rancheros tacos! Would definitely eat here again.
Great TexMex food, outstanding service in a clean and nicely decoratedlittle restaurant and bar. Best Mexican food in Blanco! My wife and I have eaten there many times and the food is consistently spot-on! Yesterday I went there on my way to Canyon Lake for an early lunch and hit it again on my way home for an early dinner. I first had Potato and Chorizo Tacos with cheese w/ Chips and Salsa. Fantastic! I like my salsa hot. If you do too, just ask your server to bring out the hotter sauce and they will. On my way home I ordered the Chalupas and they were simply delicious!!! They also have another restaurant and bar in Johnson City with the same name. If you like TexMex Mexican food, this place is a must visit spot.
